Frelinghuysen Morris House & Studio

This Bauhaus-inspired 1930’s-40’s Modernist structure was the home and studio of Suzy Frelinghuysen(1911-1988)and George L.K. Morris (1905-1975), founding members of the American Abstract Artists. They painted and championed American abstract art and collected the 20th century’s greatest modern art including Picasso, Gris, Matisse and Leger.

Historic New England’s Merwin House

This Federal style houseThey and their daughter, Vipont Merwin, traveled extensively collecting European and American furnishings and objects to decorate their home. Merwin House today is a museum of the family’s collection and the location of the Berkshires office of the Housatonic Valley Association, preserversof the Housatonic watershed.
