Libraries: A Cure for Cabin Fever
The first snow fall is exciting as our beautiful landscape turns crisp and clean and white. We think of slowing down and catching up on the things left undone during our busy summers and autumns. We dream of lazily sipping cocoa and cocktails in front of the fire with friends after a vigorous hike or a day on the slopes. Then temperatures plummet into the negatives. Winter weather advisories flash across our screens at a seemingly constant pace. Reality sets in that winter is upon us. Now what? Cabin fever hits. Ugh.
What better cure is there than our public libraries when skies are grey and temperatures are just too cold for outdoor adventure? The Stockbridge Library is a great place to find a little escape when the winter doldrums set in. Stop in and browse the library stacks or order audiobooks, books (regular and large print), magazines, and DVDs through their online system. Meet neighbors. Chat with the cordial and knowledgeable staff. Use a computer. Thumb through a favorite newspaper or magazine.
